Always Greener, Always Brighter
Maxeon is listed among the world's 50 most sustainable companies by Corporate Knights, an international sustainable business research firm.
This is the second consecutive year Maxeon has been honored, and the criteria the Company has been recognized for include the Company's total revenue generation from clean power and sustainable investments, sustainability of its supply chain, the health and safety of its employees, its circular economy practices such as recycling and lean manufacturing, and the Company's female representation in the executive management team.
Sustainability for Maxeon is a 360° commitment and at the core of everything we do.
This recognition is both as a validation of our current business model and an incentive to go even further. We know that renewable generation still needs to be scaled up significantly to fight climate change and ensure a livable future for all. At Maxeon, we are dedicated to this goal; we continue to push the boundaries of innovation in partnership with all our valued stakeholders to leave a positive impact on the communities we work with and the planet.
Building a Better Tomorrow
Central to our UN commitment is the alignment of our ESG strategy with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This global framework lays out 17 goals adopted in 2015 by all 193 Member States of the UN.
It is the ideal blueprint for broadening our approach to sustainability and decarbonisation across the more than 100 countries we serve.
While our operations impact each of the 17 SDGs directly and indirectly, Maxeon will be focusing on four specific goals. In 2021, we set our 2030 ESG long-term targets for each of these four SDGs in support of the global transition to clean energy.
Measuring our Impact
Not only do our products help others reduce their carbon footprint, but we measure our own Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impact.

Panels as Sustainable as the Energy they Produce
The inaugural pv magazine Sustainability Award in 2019 recognized the sustainable design and business practices surrounding the production of SunPower Maxeon (DC) solar panels.
Cradle to Cradle Certified™
SunPower Maxeon direct current (DC) panels were the world’s first solar panels to earn the prestigious Cradle to Cradle Certified—Silver designation for a solar panel product. For this certification, panels go through a rigorous evaluation of sustainable practices in the areas of: material health, material reutilization, renewable energy & carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.
Cradle to Cradle Certified is a certification mark licensed by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. Visit the Cradle to Cradle website for more information on the evaluation categories.

Maxeon Gives
Our Solar Panel Donation Program
At Maxeon, we believe access to healthy environmental conditions is a fundamental human right. We aim to help correct inequities and give back to the communities in which we operate, further demonstrating our commitment to sustainability and Powering Positive Change™.
The Maxeon Gives initiative, launched as Maxeon celebrates its second anniversary as an independent company, sees our solar panels donated to communities around the world and Maxeon employees volunteer their time for charitable causes. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all and reducing inequality within and among countries.

Designing Sustainability Powerhouses
Along the waterfront of Trondheim, Norway sits Powerhouse Brattørkaia. This sleek 18,580-square-metre office building generates twice as much solar energy as it will ever use, sharing the excess with neighboring buildings, electric buses, cars, and the nearby harbor ferry system through a local microgrid. It's a very intentional architectural solution orchestrated by a collaborative that calls itself the Powerhouse Team, and is revolutionizing the way buildings are designed, powered, and ultimately, deconstructed. The project received the prestigious 2020 Intersolar Smarter E-Award: Outstanding Projects in recognition of innovative business models and pioneering solutions in the sustainable energy industry.
